After spending the night in a hut, somewhere in the hilly area of Arges River Valley close to our objective – after having a frugal breakfast outdoors in the coolness of morning mountain air – we felt ready to set out to Poenari Citadel, refuge of that terrible Prince Dracula. Long story short 🙂 we’ve reached the ruined citadel perched high on the top of the mountain after the 45 min climb:)

I’ve been there more times that I can remember, but that feeling of history and mystery along with breathtaking scenery is always amazing.
