National-Romantic and Neo-Romanian Style House Windows in Bucharest (19)
Take your time and browse through my Bucharest city tours to choose the one which suits you best, or contact me to arrange a customized private tour of Bucharest’s iconic Neo-Romanian architectural landmarks.
House windows from the National Romantic era (late 19th century) featuring Islamic, Moorish and Byzantine influences, a reminder that Bucharest stands at the gates of the Eastern world!
Beautiful photographs of beautiful windows in a unique style, with dominant Moorish influences in the use of the pointed, horseshoe and “S” double and triple curved arches. The window from Victory Square could be placed in the midst of Alhambra in Granada and not feel out of place. At the other end of the style, the one from the Armenian neighbourhood borrows from both Roman and French styles. Hopefully, you will find more, to add over time!
