I booked Cristina for a two day tour of Bucharest – the first day hitting the essential sites and the second day discovering the city’s Communist history. I had a great experience. When you tour with Cristina you are touring with a genuine local who has researched and taken the time herself to explore her own city and its myriad layers. Cristina is particularly knowledgeable about how the (very varied) architecture of Bucharest reflects the history of Romania since the 1800s: we spent two days peeling through the layers of history, pointing at buildings and monuments, reciting interesting anecdotes and stories. Cristina is punctual, knowledgeable and a genuinely nice person. All you’d hope for from a tour guide. It seemed to me she really cared that I not only touch on the essential sites and take the pictures that I wanted to take but that I come away from the tour understanding Romania and the Romanian people better; that I could then look at Bucharest alone and understand and appreciate it with new, more knowledgeable, eyes. Highly recommended. I will be touring other parts of Romania with Cristina in the near future.
