Grand Hotel Lafayette on Calea Victoriei. Built in 1881, once stood at the crossroads between Lipscani street and Calea Victoriei, next to the Savings Bank Palace. The building was representative for the time when Bucharest was known as the “Little Paris of the Balkans”. Badly damaged and demolished following the earthquake in 1977.
