I warmly invite you to discover the Romanian wines in the burgeoning wine region of Dealu Mare, on a day trip from Bucharest. The vineyards of Dealu Mare in Prahova County lie on the gentle slopes in the southern foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, some 100 km north-east of Bucharest. Dealu Mare is one of the major wine regions in Romania, considered the realm of Romanian red wines. 

Discover and learn about Romanian wines, including wines made from local grapes such as the famous Feteasca Neagra.

Highlights:

  • Visit of two top wineries in the area, depending on availability (Lacerta, Mierla Alba, Budureasca, Apogeum etc). At each place you will be given a tour of the winery, including the tank fermentation room and barrel wine aging room. The guide/sommelier will explain the entire technology of wine making process, and tell about the story and philosophy of the winery.
  • Tasting of 5 premium wines at each winery, accompanied by platters of cheese, cold cuts, fruits etc and bread to help you cleanse your palates between wines.
  • Lunch to a local restaurant, where you may pair your food with another glass of wine produced in the area of Dealu Mare.
